Review | Too Faced Cocoa Contour Chisled to Perfection Face Contouring and Highlighting Kit

I hauled this contour kit in my last post, and promised a full review - so here it is!
I bought this palette at Sephora (here) for $50CDN

The reason I chose this particular contour palette over say, the Anastasia one, or the Kat Von D one was because it was cheaper, and contains the shades I would get the most use out of anyway. Also, the individual powders contain more actual product (per shade, not entire palette).

These powders are super blendable, which is exactly what I look for in a contour and bronzer powder. You don't want to end up with a muddy looking streak under your cheekbone!

The mirror is a good size, and will be handy during travel, or even if you were doing your makeup away from your usual mirror.

The packaging is a sturdy cardboard, and it has a magnetic closure. I'm a big fan of the magnetic closure because it keeps it from sprinkle the powders throughout my makeup drawer, and it's just fun.

Lastly, before I get into each shade, I need to rave about the smell! This is my first chocolate product I've tried from Too Faced, and they weren't kidding! This makeup smells like the most delicious chocolate. Yum.

[Left to right: Light Cocoa, Medium Cocoa, Dark Cocoa, Pop of Light]

Light Cocoa - as you can see in the above swatches, it is a few shades lighter than my skin tone. I use this powder for setting my under eye concealer, when I want that brightening effect. I will even drag it up my cheekbone for an almost matte highlight. If you look closely at the powder in the pan, it does seem to have a slight shimmer to it, but it's not that noticeable on the skin, except for providing the brightening effect.

Medium Cocoa - this is the cool toned sculpting powder in the kit. This is a great contour shade for my skin. The 'shadow' looks pretty natural or realistic.

Dark Cocoa - this is the warm toned sculpting powder in the kit. I use this is a bronzer to warm up my complexion. It is a bit dark, but using a light hand, I don't have any problems with it.

Pop of Light - this is an intense highlight. I'm not the biggest fan of this powder to be honest. It is just too glittery for my taste. I will still use it occasionally on the cheekbones, and probably as an inner corner highlight. I just wish they but less actual glitter in it, and made it more glowy, if that makes sense.

Overall I'm extremely happy with this purchase, and will be getting a lot of use out of this palette!
